Great uncle of my father Bernard Mallinder (1921-1995). William Henry was the youngest child in the family of Thomas Mallinder 1827-1878 Paternal Line. William Henry and his brother Joseph Mallinder (1853-1915 Paternal Line) were the only two family members of Thomas Mallinder (1827-1878) to have children. The picture is a 19th century Dewhurst's Sylko wooden cabinet with two drawers; William Henry, at one time, was a smallware dealer (tapes, braids, ribbons etc) and probably provided this popular twist product to his dressmaker customers.

William Henry is recorded as a witness at my grandfather's (Thomas Mallinder 1886-1943) wedding in 1908, perhaps William Henry was the best man. William Henry was 38 years old and my grandfather was 22 years old. William Henry was Thomas' uncle. William Henry probably attended with his wife Annie, his son Osmund and perhaps daughter Mary. Thomas Mallinder 1886-1843 (my grandfather) knew that his wife was pregnant with his future son Vincent. Perhaps William Henry was to help my grandfather in later years to enter into the retail fruit and vegatable business. I would guess that William Henry was very close to my grandfather Thomas. My grandfather's son Vincent was born in 1909, the same time that William Henry's children Barbara and Phillip were being born. William Henry's sisters created their dressmaker business and William Henry's brother, Joseph Mallinder 1853-1915 (my great grandfather), was working as a steel moulder.
